Challenges
'One of the most effective ways I've found to try something new is to engage myself in a challenge.' Ali Edwards
Challenges are such a good opportunity to stretch ourselves and to help us remember that this hobby that we all love so much is not only about capturing memories, but also be about having fun in the process. So with that said, join us on a 17 week journey through the Ali Edwards' challenges in her 'A Designer's Eye for scrapbooking with patterned paper' book. We are encouraging you to get her book (we will carry them in our store) but you don't have to have it to do the challenges. Just read on and join us to enjoy exploring your artsy side!
The new challenge will come out on Friday of every week. And on the following Thursday, your layouts are due in Scrappin' Buds so we can post them for the Friday night crop. This is a good way to get everyone's creative juices going! There are no size requirements, no rules, no stress, just have fun.
Ok, are you ready?? Here's the first one, how exciting!!!
the challenge #1
Go to your scraps. Close your eyes (this takes the problem of choice and too much thinking out of the equation). Pull out six pieces of patterned paper that are big enough to be square-punched. Punch one square from each scrap. Now punch three photos. Place all nine squares together on a 12x12 piece of cardstock. Journal around the outside of your square. Voila-a wonderful example of a completely random pattern assortment!
Soooo fun. Can't wait to see your pages on Thursday.
